Hi, I'm Karen Michelle

I’m not just a health coach. I’m a survivor who learned how to thrive.

For a long time, I lived my life as a passenger. I thought health was something that simply "happened" to us—a stroke of luck or a roll of the dice. That belief shattered the day I heard the words "breast cancer."

In an instant, I was thrust into "survival mode." I became a professional patient, following every protocol, enduring every treatment, and focusing entirely on beating the disease. I won that war, but the cost was high. I was left depleted, hollowed out, and a stranger to my own body.

The Betrayal That Became My Breakthrough

Just as I thought I was finding a "new normal," the second blow landed: Type 2 Diabetes.

It felt like a cruel betrayal. After fighting so hard to survive cancer, I didn't think I had another battle in me. I was angry, exhausted, and resentful. But in that dark space, I had a realization that changed everything: While medical treatments had saved my life, only my daily habits could sustain it.

I stopped asking "Why me?" and started asking "What can I do?"

The Reinvention

I decided to stop being a passive participant in my health. I turned my kitchen into my pharmacy and my plate into my most powerful tool. I moved away from the processed foods and hidden sugars that were fueling my inflammation and began to Nourish My Body with Whole Foods and Mindful, Sustainable Choices.

The transformation wasn't just physical. The "brain fog" lifted. My energy returned. For the first time in years, the light came back on. I wasn't just "not sick" anymore—I was vibrant.

Why I Coach

I founded ReinventwithKarenMichelle because I know the fear of a diagnosis and the overwhelming confusion of Conflicting Dietary Advice. I’ve been in the trenches, and I know that "just eating better" feels like climbing a mountain when you’re already exhausted.

My Holistic Health Coaching Approach is rooted in empathy, science, and the belief that it is never too late to take back the wheel. I don’t believe in "perfection" or restrictive diets that steal your joy. I believe in small, sustainable shifts that lead to massive, life-altering reinvention.

I survived so that I could live. I changed my life so that I could truly be alive. Now, I’m here to help you do the same.

Let’s write your thriver story together.

Explore My Reinvention

  • My 40 Year Journey

For four decades, my identity was tied to a pharmacy receipt. From the age of 10 to 50, I wasn't just a woman living my life; I was a patient "managing" symptoms. I’ve survived migraines, surgeries, and cancer, only to find myself at 50 with a Type 2 Diabetes diagnosis and a handful of pills that made me feel like a shadow of myself.

This is the story of how I stopped being a passive passenger in my own healthcare and finally started thriving.

  • What No One Told Me After My Gallbladder Removal at 22

At 22, I was rolled into an operating room to have my gallbladder removed. I was told it was a "routine" procedure—that the gallbladder was essentially a disposable organ, like an appendix. "You don’t really need it," they said. "Just avoid greasy pizza for a few weeks, and you’ll be fine."

For the next two decades, I believed them. But looking back from age 50, I realize that surgery was the quiet beginning of a metabolic landslide that led me straight toward migraines, joint pain, and eventually, Type 2 Diabetes.

  • How a Metabolic Shift Ended My 20-Year Migraine Battle

For over two decades, my life was measured in milligrams and darkened rooms. If you’ve suffered from chronic migraines, you know the drill: the aura that signals the coming storm, the desperate reach for prescription bottles, and the missed birthdays, meetings, and memories. For 20 years, I thought medication was my only lifeline.

    I was wrong.

  • From Survival to Thriving: How a "No Sugar, Low Carb" Shift Healed My Post-Cancer Joint Pain

After surviving breast cancer, I thought the hardest part was over. But then came the "pills." For many of us, the end of active treatment marks the beginning of hormone therapy—medications like aromatase inhibitors (Letrozole, Anastrozole) or Tamoxifen. While these are life-saving tools to prevent recurrence, they often come with a heavy price: debilitating joint and muscle pain.

For months, I felt decades older than my actual age. Getting out of bed was a feat of strength. Then, I changed my fuel.
